Well, a really really really messed up thing happened to us on Friday. All of you locals know how nice it was here in Seattle - sunny and warm and beautiful. Paul and I skipped out of work early and headed over to Seward Park in Seattle. It's a little patch of land that juts out into Lake Washington and has hiking trails, beaches, etc... We parked and headed off into the trails. When we came back to the truck, the back window was broken out and my purse was gone. I routinely put it under the back seat as the windows are tinted and you can't see it that way. So they must have either seen me lean over the back seat and do that or they took a chance and got lucky. Beyond the purse itself which was a beautiful Guess handbag that I loved (my first Christmas gift from Paul), inside the purse was:
1) My Treo PDA/Cell phone
2) My portable MP3 player
3) My waterproof digital camera
4) My wallet - cards, money, temple recommend, etc...
5) 4 tickets to the Foo Fighters show in July (amazing seats)
6) All of our remaining wedding gift cards (Macy's, BB&B, Pottery Barn, etc...)
On top of that, my keys were in the purse - my Mustang, Paul's truck, our condo. So we had to get the locks changed on all of those and of course, get Paul's truck window replaced. The damage and loss is in the thousands. Our auto and home insurance will cover it but we have deductibles on both so we are still out a boatload of money. Not to mention all the time and effort it will take to replace everything, get new cards, driver license, monitor my credit, and more. What a complete disaster. Paul and I were so depressed that night. Of course, Paul was the only one who could come up with a silver lining, "Well, at least we can start shopping somewhere besides Macy's and Bed, Bath, & Beyond."

Oh my gosh! that totally SUCKS!! I hate people!
Except, don't you mean that those bastards took your Guess POCKETBOOK?
I am so so so sad and mad for you! People suck. When my parents told me about this I just felt sick for you. Who gives them the right?!!! I don't like people.
I think you should get re-married so we can all buy you gift certificates.
People are stupid.
Good thing Paul is so optimistic. I hope you laughed instead of punching him!
oh, and whoever did that to you guys will definitely rot in HELL. At least I hope so.
Was your new scooter harmed in any way? That would put this thing on a whole new level of horribleness.
Good thing I don't memorize anyone's phone numbers. A quick little reprogramming into my phone and your as good as new in my perspective. Sorry it isn't that easy with all the other stuff you lost.
Too bad about the ping pong paddles not being in there...
Holy Cow you two! I am sorry to hear it. We have been right where you are and it is not a fun feeling or time but it gets better! Love You Both. Stacey
