Triple Jump

This weekend we were in Pennsylvania at my sister's house for my nephew's baptism. We took the red eye flight on Thursday night so by the time we got there on Friday morning I was belligerent (I can't sleep on planes). After a little nap I was good to go though. My sister has five boys so during the 3 days we were there we saw two kids playing tee ball, two playing Little League, and one playing soccer. And two games were rained out. I think my sister must live in a camping chair. Friday night we took the kids to see "Horton Hears a Who" - a perfect example of what a great aunt I am b/c it was brutal. Not as bad as when we had to take them to see Alvin and the Chipmunks but still bad. The baptism was great - welcome to Ben, the newest Church member of the family! All weekend my youngest nephew Nate (5) kept making Paul play checkers with him. I told Paul he had to let him win but Nate was getting so cocky it was making him crazy! That kid can trash talk with the best of them!! Paul was pretty proud that he was able to set it up so Nate could jump three of his pieces in one move. Of course he had to endure Nate's victory dance after. we were so tired when we got back to Seattle we just relaxed on Monday night. We watched "Lars and the Real Girl" on On Demand. It's so good! I had already seen it but Paul hadn't - we both loved it. It's bizarre, funny, touching, and wonderful! Now it's back to work and real life!

Sounds like a good weekend, and maybe, just maybe, worth missing SATC on opening weekend.
