Happy Birthday P-Dub!

Monday was Paul's birthday so I planned a little surprise for him. My sister flew in to Portland on Friday to visit a friend before coming up to Seattle. So I told Paul the plan was to drive down Friday, stay over at her friend's house and then drive her up to Seattle on Saturday. So Paul packed a bag and we hit the road. He was a little confused because I volunteered to drive (which I never do). As soon as we got on I-90 East he knew something was up and guessed we were going to Spokane. He was a good sport and didn't ask too many questions and just let the surprises unfold. We went to Spokane and checked into the historic Davenport Hotel . Then we went over to his friends' house for a surprise party with a delicious carrot cake made by the same woman who did our wedding cake. The next day we ordered room service for breakfast and drove around to see some sights and hung out with his friends. And my brother had gone down to Portland to get my sister so we got to hang out with her when we got back and officially celebrated again on his birthday. He got lots of fun presents but I think there is a special place in his heart for what my brother got him - two packs of authentic wursts! Here we go again!

You are such a good tricky wife. Now fake a black eye for an extra birthday treat. Right in time for church.

Glad it went well! Wish we could have been there! So when is the baby coming? Soon I thought?
