Throughout our travels we saw dozens of absolutely breathtaking cathedrals and I had to look in every single one. I couldn't get enough, they are so beautiful!! We visited churches built centuries ago, some as far back as a
thousand years ago.
It kind of turned into a joke for Paul because we would visit these tiny villages near Heidelburg where my brother lives and there would be a small city square with like three huge, ornate Cathedrals all built by different Archbishops and he would freak out because there were just so many churches! It was like if every time we got a new apostle he said, "I want my own Temple right next to the Salt Lake Temple, the same size." Paul found them historically interesting and could definitely appreciate the splendor but I was practically obsessed with them.
I had to look at every bit of them and I loved going down into the crypts and seeing the old tombs. I might have turned Catholic for the week or so I was there. My favorite church was probably the one in Mondsee which is where they filmed Maria's wedding to Captain Von Trapp in the Sound of Music. I visited it with my family 20 years ago and I still love it! What beautiful churches. We are glad that you had such a great trip. You need to put more pictures up of the two of you. I want to see your cute pregnant belly.
