There has been an unacceptable silence on this blog as of late and for that I apologize. Paul and I have been out and about and I have been remiss in our updates so I'll give you the Reader's Digest version of happenings:
1. Last weekend we went out to Paul's Mom's house in Silverdale and had a nice visit with her. During this trip, Paul volunteered to sub on his brother's indoor soccer team. By the time we got to the game, Paul realized he forgot his shorts at his Mom's house and it was too far to go back. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your sense of humor) the only person who could lend him anything was some younger punk on the team who had the build of a 14-year-old girl and had an extra pair of warm-up pants. These practically translated into spandex on Paul but he played in them anyway and was fully redeemed by the fact that he scored literally HALF the team goals for the win. That's true soccer dedication.
2. Last week all of the people on my team from around the world were in town for our bi-annual meeting during which I had a couple of presentations. So that was a fun chance to be asked a million times and in dozens of accents, some variation of, "WHOA, you're huge! When are you due!?!?" In some cases of men who are clearly beer fans, I wanted to ask the same question back but refrained and instead just smiled.
3. On Wednesday we had a 3D ultrasound of the baby. Those are pretty cool and during this we found out some good information about her and her personality. First of all, she is fairly sassy because within the first five minutes she very clearly flipped off Paul and stuck her tongue out at me. We also learned that she is totally healthy, her body parts are all proportional (except the head is slightly bigger - fun for me), she has lots of hair, and she is 5 pounds 4 ounces (90% percentile for her age). All of it but the last part makes me very happy. Paul and I start my stair climbing/spicy food eating/etc... routine in a couple weeks. Two words: 2008 taxes! (ultrasounds pics coming soon - I just need to scan them!)
4. Friday Paul came with me and my friend Emily to see the movie Twilight. He was one of three men in the theater and he actually liked the movie! I liked it too. Of course the books are better but everyone knows that. I thought they did a pretty good job with it and there were some parts I thought were great. One part that wasn't so great was that the theater was 85% teenage girls who would literally scream like it was the Beatles anytime almost any new character appeared in the film (especially Edward and Jacob).
5. Saturday we went to a friend's party and educated people on the art of board games and trash-talking during board games. Afterwards we met our other friends to see Slumdog Millionaire, which we LOVED! It's the story of a poor Indian guy who goes on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in India and is arrested for cheating because he knows all the correct answers. The movie is him telling his life story to the police inspector which explains question-by-question how he happens to know all the answers. So good!!

Please don't let your baby get too big. Please please. Also don't let your doctor tell you she got too big from eating too much pumpkin roll, it's a lie!
