The Wellers have been having a lot of fun lately. I'm pretty sure we have been having more fun than you... sorry if that's mean to say. We are good at it though and we have had years and years of practice. We're happy to do what we can to share the fun though, so here are all the things that we have been doing that have been fun. You should do some of them too.
Putting up a Christmas tree while watching Elf. Our tree looks awesome. It was especially fun because Paul did everything but the bows/ribbons while I "supervised" from the couch and enjoyed the movie. "No, I like that ornament, put it more in the center!!" "No, that one's ugly, put it in the back!" Sonofanutcracker!!
Fantasy Lights. This is way the heck down in Spanaway but we loved it. It's a leisurely two-mile drive along Spanaway Lake decorated with hundreds of Christmas light displays. We had a little Christmas music playing during the drive and it put us all in the Christmas spirit. For those of you who want to take advantage, here's a $3 off coupon!
Snowflake Lane. This show is put on every night at 7 pm about two blocks from our condo in downtown Bellevue. There's music, live "toy soldiers," lights, and snow! Plus, you can easily pop into the mall after for a Red Mango or a Peppermint Hot Chocolate.
Four Christmases. This movie is hilarious. Go see it and then talk to me about the "Taboo" scene.
Sweet Potatoes. Do I have to write more? Fine, I will. Paul and I have been trying to make healthier choices in what we eat so when he was put in charge of the Sweet Potatoes for his family dinner, I went searching for a "healthier alternative" (yes, I know that sounds gross). But I found an awesome recipe that uses orange juice and a little maple syrup and they actually turned out SO delicious! Paul and I basically made out with these potatoes at dinner and we decided we should be eating these waaaay more often than yearly.
What can I say? Wellers just wanna have fun!

I want to see Four Christmases. I love Reese Witherspoon and Mr. C likes whats-his-name so we'll both be happy!
Hey there! This is Sarah McPhie, and I'm loving sweet potatoes these days too. Here are a bunch of recipes: http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/health/series/recipes_for_health/sweet_potatoes/index.html. I've only tried the "crouton" salad, but it was tasty. I hope you're doing well. Your blog is hilarious!
I am not a fan of snowflake lane. But I am a fan of peppermint hot chocolate, so I guess you get a pass on that one.
I saw Four Christmases today, so I'm ready to talk about Taboo. But what about the "boundaries" speech?
Also, why didn't you post the link to the sweet potato recipe?
Good point, I have linked to the recipe now.
I wish we lived closer so that we could join you from time-to-time in all those fun winter activities.
Thank you.
yes those were yummy sweet potatoes. The kids loved them. Glad you put the recipe on here.
