What a difference a year makes
Well, I am (kind of) back in the land of the living so I am going to try to get back into somewhat regular blogging. Despite the preponderance of Leah photos on the blog, I am going to try to avoid making this a "mommy blog." However, Leah is one cute chickie so no doubt you'll be hearing much more about her. But hopefully in an easily digestible amount and format. I was hoping to post my first blog back on Sunday, which was Paul and my first wedding anniversary. We celebrated while my sister was here so she could babysit while we went to dinner at Daniel's (where our wedding luncheon was). Then we ordered the same cake top we had at our wedding and ate that on our actual anniversary (since we ate the original one about one day after we got back from the honeymoon). As we were enjoying it, we made a list of what we had done in the previous 12 months. Here's a sample of the items:
Got married
Took a carribean cruise
Paul rode his bike from Seattle to Portland (STP)
Spent a long weekend in Southern California (house swap with some friends)
Visited my brother and his family in Germany, also visited Austria
I made Paul take me on a "Twilight" tour of the Olympic Peninsula, staying one night in Forks
I grew and pushed out an adorable baby girl
Paul and his brothers participated in "Ridge to River" multi-event race
I became a docent at the Bellevue Arts Museum
Paul became Scoutmaster
One trip down to sunny AZ for our open house
Paul received his AICP certification (American Institute of Certified Planners)
I successfully executed a surprise trip to Spokane for Paul's birthday
Paul and brothers participated in the world's biggest 3-on-3 basketball tournamet (Hoop Fest)
There's a bunch more we listed but I can't think of them all. Also, I think you are probably sick of reading the list by now. Anyway, suffice it to say, it was one crazy year. I have a feeling things will calm down this year considering I can barely shower and get dressed before 4 pm these days. But that's okay, this year will be a completely different set of adventures.

GREAT idea to make this list. I think we'll have to copy this idea!!
You two are an awesome couple (even though I only technically know 1/2 of you) and I wish you many more happy years together!!
I notice that you left off your list "Went to NYC on business and got to see Sonya in the bargain." I'm still so bummed about that!
And I'm so jealous that you had more of that cake for your anniversary! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Happy Anniversary. You and Paul are amazing and we are grateful that we were able to see you a little in this busy year of yours. Leah is so adorable.
So, I'm not sure if it's because you guys are just so darn cute (And by you guys I mean especially little Leah!), or that by reading your blog I feel like I know Esther better, or that Paul was/is like a brother to me...but I seriously almost got tears in my eyes reading your last postings!!! Maybe marriage has made me more emotional! I love you three Wellers, even though I've only met one in person :)
