Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday was last week and per my usual tradition, I celebrated for a full week. We did it in style this year with lots of festivities in recognition of what is arguably the most important day in the history of mankind. Here's a rundown of my birthday itinerary:

Monday - massage at In Spa
Tuesday - dinner at El Gaucho (OLE!!!) then cake and presents at home
Wednesday - Spa night
Thursday - Dinner with the girls at Cactus Cantina
Friday - day off from work, double feature with Paul, harbor cruise, fish 'n' chips, and of course, Trophy Cupcakes

So you can see we did a pretty good job celebrating. I had never been to El Gaucho but there is a new one in Bellevue (and on the MS Prime Discount list). IT. WAS. DELICIOUS!! Both my dinner and my dessert were set on fire in front of me which was another bonus. This video here is of the James Bond wannabe making me my bananas foster. I got so many great presents I can't even go into it all. A couple of my favorites were a Lladro of mother and child from my Mom and a Tiffany bracelet from Paul.

Of course Paul got me an amazing birthday cake from my favorite local bakery goddess - Sweet Lorraine Cakes. It was a four layer butter cake with milk chocolate ganache filling. The design on it was beautiful too! Can you see the "E" on the top? So cute! I ate it for breakfast three days in a row. It's SO worth it to get a real cake made, not just a grocery store cake. Luckily I have a husband that understands this.

Our day off from work was awesome. It had been since way before the baby that we could do a double feature. Luckily we have the best nanny so we didn't feel to guilty doing it. After that we played tourist in our own city and did the Seattle harbor cruise. Leah loved it. I have a ton of cute pictures of her that are currently stuck on my camera but I'll post them soon(ish). Overall I was super happy with my birthday extravaganza.

Your birthday week was awesome. And I'm seriously jealous! That cake looks amazing. I don't think I have ever had a professionally made cake from a cake place except for my wedding cake. Ummm maybe I'll plant that seed into Ryan's head early on and see if he follows through :-) Good ideas!

This is why we are friends, you really know how to celebrate correctly. That's probably why you married Paul too, because he seems to have the knack as well.
