Walk It Out

Last Saturday we went on the Bellevue "Art & Parks Walk" around the downtown Bellevue area. It was sponsored by a local walking club. They had mapped out a 10K walk that visited several parks and the pieces of art in them. We had been to most of the sites before but there were pieces of art here and there we had never noticed! It was fun getting to know our neighborhood a little better. A perfect example was this World War I memorial located right in the middle of Bellevue Downtown Park amidst a clump of trees. We had seen the trees many times and walked by them without realizing the memorial was there.

Almost everyone else there was a member of the walking club sponsoring the event and therefore "walking for credits." They get "credits" when they complete different walks (there were checkpoints along the way to stamp their books). They were dying to get us to join for Leah - "Just imagine how many credits she could have by the time she grows up!!" They are hardcore about their walking credits! We just enjoyed the morning and passed on the credits.
