It's A Girl!

Don't worry, I'm not pregnant or anything! Paul and I recently sponsored a child through World Vision. Her name is Sarai, she's seven years old, and she lives in El Salvador (where Paul served his mission). I was pretty excited when we got her because her favorite subject in school is mathematics!! I like the fact that they encourage you to write letters to your child and your child writes to you as well. It's a little selfish, but I think that it's more fun to donate when there is a connection like that. It's only $1 a day too so that is super reasonable. Although you can't send packages or anything you can send things that fit in an envelope like hair bows, paper dolls, etc... so it will be fun to send her things every so often. I also like how the organization has been around a long time and is a Christian organization built on a spiritual foundation. We have Sarai's picture up on our fridge and are looking forward to the whole experience. It's always good to have a reminder of how blessed we are and also good to be able to help someone, especially a girl who likes math.
