Sweet and Sour

Since Leah is sitting up now we dug out the high chair for her. Previously we were still using the bumbo but it would take two of us to get her out of it because her little fat thighs would be wedged into it. Also because we would put her in it on the counter when we were getting dinner ready or something like that, we were ultra-paranoid that she was going to fall out of it and crack her noggin. The other day I put her in the high chair and gave her a big orange slice to gnaw on. She was enjoying it happily until her mischievous mother switched it with a lemon. You can see her reaction in the video below. In my defense, I was only going to give her one taste but she pulls my hand in for more. I guess it hurts so good.

P.S. She has no teeth yet so I can't give her much besides baby food but I like being able to give her something like the orange she can hold and chew on herself without me worrying about her choking. Any other suggestions of snacks I can give her that don't require teeth?

At that stage, I'd give Li'l Mil those big pretzel rods. Rub the salt off and they'll keep her busy for a while. And they're not quite as messy as graham crackers. LOVE the lemon face! Too cute.

HA! That is just too cute. Gigantor makes a great face with lemons too...and he keeps going back for more! Must be in their blood.

I found at Target these little mesh bags by "Munchkin" that have a plastic handle on them. You can put food in them and let the little people have at it. They mash the food up and then whatever is too big will stay inside. Gigantor LOVED THEM. I just rinsed them out and put them right in the dishwasher when he was finished for an easy clean up. But it gives you lots of freedom with foods! They were also great for teething, I just put some ice or frozen fruit in to calm his gums. :)

Hey, I'm a blog stalker, and friend of Paul's from college, but I had to tell you one of my favorite baby food items, with no need for teeth. Avocados. Messy but good. My little dude loved them!
