I am 21387423864 years old

I know that I am getting older and my life is changing now that I have two kids but sometimes I like to think that I am not that bad. I still listen to hip-hop and I still have a decent sense of what's new in pop culture. But now I know the truth. I am old. The other day my Mom and I went to Hollister to buy a birthday present for my nephew. Unfortunately right when we walked in the electricity went out. But that turned out to just be how they keep the lighting. Then (and I know how bad this sounds) the music was turned up ridiculously loud. I thought I was walking into a rave. I found a shirt and tried to show my Mom but not only could I not make out what color it was or what the price tag said, I was unable to get my Mom's attention because she could neither see me nor hear me. I stumbled to what I assume was a check-out counter because someone took my card and shoved a bag into my hand. When we finally found our way out of the store, squinting and disoriented we checked the bag and found that what we bought was acceptable, luckily. Please let it be "cool" to turn on lights by the time Leah and Andrew want to buy clothes at the mall.

"This MUST be your GREAT grandchild!" Poor you guys. It's rough being old. I think I'm getting arthritis.

This is the best blog post I've ever read. Anywhere.
:)

You are not alone. I too am "old". Just ask my almost 12-year-old.
