Happy Heart Day

Paul and I have a tradition of keeping our Valentine's Day low-key, partially due to the proximity of our anniversary and partially due to the reality of having kids. However, this year was a bit of an exception. Our nanny's husband was out of town so she was planning to babysit. Then at lunchtime on the big day I heard about a deal (half price) that Kenmore Air was running for floatplane tours of Seattle so I called and booked us on a 4 pm tour.

They called me back at 2 pm and said that the weather was deteriorating and the sooner we could go the better chance we'd have that our flight actually happened. So I called Paul and asked if he could leave work early and picked him up. He had no idea what we were doing until we pulled into the parking lot, at which point he totally freaked. (For those who don't know, Paul grew up on an airstrip and his Dad had a small plane. Paul has solo'd and will eventually finish up his pilot's license once we stop having babies for 5 minutes.)

Our tour was great and it was so fun to check out all the sights of Seattle from the air. Take off and landing was awesome on water - way smoother than land. We both had a great time. Despite this unusual method of celebration, we stayed true to our Valentine's Tradition and finished the afternoon with a couple of delicious burgers from Lunchbox Laboratory.

Leah and Andrew celebrated Valentine's Day with the ridiculous amount of presents that Bookie and their aunts and cousins sent them. Shopping cart, toys, balloons, stuffed animals, it was quite the day for them. It's not too surprising though, who wouldn't want to be these two cuties' valentine?

Leah's Valentine came with two lollipops:
Andrew's Valentine came with a box of Sweethearts candy:

SO CUTE!

I totally remember hearing about Paul and (Sam's...) house when I went on a date with Sam. It totally confused me...people really LIVE on a hanger??? It sounded like an awesome place to grow up.

Your kids are ADORABLE!!! but I know you already know that!
