Here are cool things I have done lately. You should do them too.
The Head and the Heart
My friend Suzanne invited me to go to this show. It's a local Seattle band called The Head and the Heart. I didn't know much about them going into the show but it was great. They just signed a record contract a couple days before the sold-out show so they were in great spirits and played a super fun show. They even have a violinist. I love hearing them on the radio now and knowing I was at that show.
Thaddillac
First of all, what more do you need to know besides that name?? My friend Kathy is in this band and they are awesome. Thaddillac (aka Thaddeus Turner) is a great performer and entertainer. Plus, if you have any issues you need to work out, this funk music and a dance floor is pretty much all you need.
The Mysterious Content of Softness
The Bellevue Arts Museum has an exhibit right now called "The Mysterious Content of Softness" that features pieces created using various fiber techniques. My favorite is a piece called "Locker Room" by Nathan Vincent which is basically an entire men's locker room crocheted out of yarn. It's a great contrast between a traditionally female hobby and a very masculine place. Note: the first Friday of every month is free at BAM!
