Monday night I was in charge of the "activity" for our FHE so I planned something awesome, as usual. I didn't tell Paul what it was and just left it a surprise. By the time we got to Ballard, Paul was thoroughly intrigued.
We arrived at 8:00 pm at the Tractor Tavern.
The Tallboys were warming up on stage and the caller was getting the mike ready. That's right, we were there to do some square dancing! Paul looked momentarily panicked but after watching just one song, he took off his coat, grabbed my hand, and the rest is bluegrass history! Sure, it's not something we'll probably do on a regular basis, but it's a big world out there and we want to check it all out! To top off the evening, we walked down to my favorite cupcake shop on Market, Cupcake Royale.
Paul had a carrot cake cupcake:
I had a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting, aka a "Mr. Formal". I would have preferred the reverse (vanilla with chocolate frosting) but they were all out:
Delicious!

square dancing and cupcakes! sounds like my kind of night out! (that may sound like sarcasm, but I'm serious, I love square dancing.)
Square dancing? What, you didnt get your fill in 4th grade during the Edison fair? Next, you're going to tell me that you have bought a trailer and your moving to PA.
I love that you have a blog and I love that you acutally plan and have FHE. Kirk and I really should start having FHE, we're terrible. Those cupcakes look yummy, I'll have to make Kirk take me sometime.
you love the tallboys. that is hilarious. it's like you used your old calling to plan your fhe, so i guess your old calling really prepared you for life. that's sweet. :)
