The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I know we are waaay overdue for a blog post so I will invoke my standard default excuse: "I'm nine months pregnant!" Since my stubborn little girl will not come out and meet her family, I figured I'd give a few quick updates on what we have been doing lately.

First of all, there was the huge Seattle snowstorm that had most folks snowed in for at least a week. It was the best week ever for me! I was working from home and Paul and I were able to get around just fine when needed in his truck. Because of where we live we took advantage of deserted movie theaters, restaurants, and stores. We were able to get so much holiday shopping done across the street at Bell Square Mall the Saturday before Christmas - we were practically the only ones there! I love the white stuff!

Paul and I were at home for Christmas and even though we missed being with our families, we enjoyed our most relaxing Christmas ever. We also realized this will be our first and only Christmas just the two of us which made it kind of fun and romantic. Christmas Eve we had our second annual Chinese food dinner at P.F. Chang's and watched Snowflake Lane through the window. Afterwards we delivered treats to nearby friends and then came home for our little mini-program before going to sleep. Christmas Day we slept in and opened presents. We are both awesome gift givers so it was a great Christmas. I love having a husband that listens and pays attention! :) After presents, Paul got out the waffle iron and we enjoyed homemade waffles with a variety of toppings including: maple syrup, whipped cream, sliced strawberries, powdered sugar, and Nutella! Then of course, a movie later that afternoon.

We were both so depressed the day after Christmas because we love the holiday season but considering the exciting delivery we have coming up, we snapped out of it pretty quickly. We hope you all had a great Christmas too!

Sounds like a great Christmas! I am too excited to see your little girl when she arrives. Don't wait too long to post after she comes, I know you'll be busy and tired, but we are all so anxious! :)
