The Nice List

The Wellers had a great holiday season this year! One of our favorite activities was inviting people to come over to see Snowflake Lane with us. That was also a good excuse for us to have lots of treats on hand for visitors. Of course, I had to sample them frequently to make sure they tasted great for our guests. We would get Leah all bundled up in her little snowsuit and red hat and put her in a backpack carrier to see the show. Her favorite were the soldiers on stilts. I think she was impressed that someone was even taller than she was, up in her backpack.

We all made out like bandits on Christmas with lots of great gifts. Leah did pretty well opening all her presents but was consistently conflicted between playing with the gift or licking the wrapping paper. In most cases, she did both. Her dream come true would have been for us to let her lick all the ornaments. Heaven knows she tried. She did love the tree and the lights though and would stand at the edge of her play area looking at it whenever we said "tree."

I missed being with my family this Christmas but we had a wonderful Christmas dinner with Paul's grandparents and family in Bellingham. That city is starting to grow on me.

Another favorite part of the season was all the Christmas cards we received. We LOVE sending out cards and receiving them. It is fun to get them in the mail and it's great to see and hear about what our friends and family are doing. We got many more this year than last and are hoping to continue the trend.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well and a happy new year!
