The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Cancelled)

This year I cancelled Christmas. This was because I had a lovely Christmas Eve Dinner and Program planned and then Paul got really sick and couldn't get out of bed. So I postponed it until Christmas Day and my Mom got really sick too. So then I just yelled at everyone, "Christmas is cancelled!" But I guess it wasn't really because we still opened present and had Christmas dinner and our program.

This year I went overboard and bought my kids like 1278312 Christmas outfits. There were just so many cute ones! We didn't take advantage of Snowflake Lane as many times this year as we have in the past but we still went several times. Leah really loves it now. She walks straight up to all the characters and waits to give them a hug, it's so adorable. Andrew loves the music and just kicks and kicks while it plays.

Leah and Andrew got an insane amount of toys this year even though I really tried to keep it simple. Some of her favorites were a toy jewelry box and a Yo Gabba Gabba keyboard. Andrew's favorites were a turtle that plays music and a toy guitar.

The best part of Christmas was definitely the Program I put together. The actual printed programs were awesome too. Here was the line-up:

Opening Song - "Joy to the World"
Opening Prayer - Ann
Christmas Story - Paul
"Jingle Bells" - Esther & Leah (on bells)
Parable of the Shopper - Ann
Christms Video - Eric
"Once There Was a Snowman" - Leah & Andrew
"Silent Night" - Esther (on piano)
Nativity Presentation - Leah (pointed out all the people/animals in her nativity set)
Reading of Luke, Chapter 2 - Eric
Closing Song - "O Come All Ye Faithful"
Closing Prayer - Paul

It was awesome. Leah did all her parts perfectly and with enthusiasm! How many times do we have to say it? The best parts of Christmas have nothing to do with presents!

Andrew wins best Christmas outfit. That is a pretty serious program for violently ill people.
