The Nordic Woodsmen

Yesterday, Paul's good friend Mike was in town visiting from Oslo, Norway. Mike and his wife Brooke are there for a year as part of his UW PhD program. We haven't seen Mike since they moved there so it was fun to spend some time catching up and he stayed overnight in our guest room. First we went to REI - Paul had to rent cross-country skis (check back for our next blog post on why) and Mike was picking up a few things that are more expensive in Norway. Afterwards we went to Racha in Queen Anne for a delicious Thai dinner. It was great to see Mike and hear how they are enjoying Norway. Since Sonya and I spent about two weeks there a few years ago, Mike and I got to compare notes a little bit. He even brought us a huge box of Norwegian chocolates as a belated wedding gift. Mike is headed back to Norway tomorrow so have a safe trip, Mike!
