Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Most of you know I am a nuts Mariners fan. When I was single, I would go to about 20 games a season, most of which were part of a season ticket package I shared with my friends. After I got married we still went to lots of games but obviously that dropped off after I had Leah. Still, we made it to a few games and I never missed an opening day.....until now. This year would have marked my 11th consecutive Opening Day at Safeco Field. We had great tickets to the game in hand and then Leah got sick. Very sick. Children's ER at midnight the night before sick. There was no way around it, I had to stay home and take care of my little baby girl! I was so worried about her at the time I didn't really care about the game. We sold my tickets but Paul was able to go with the rest of our group. Even though it was just a baseball game, I was a pretty sad to break my attendance streak. I will be even sadder when this sweet little girl who I sacrificed one of my favorite traditions for tells me I'm ruining her life when she's 13 (or some similar comment). I will probably try to tell her about this day and she will roll her eyes at me. I'll tell her anyway just to make myself feel better. :)

I'm sorry you missed your game! You should have made Paul stay home to take care of her, so you wouldn't have to ruin your streak!
When's the new little guy coming, any day now right?
